Birds and Bodacious Botanicals New Works by Cindy Taylor
I am a retired teacher living in Mineral Point, Wisconsin where I now have free time to pursue my enjoyment of painting. I studied art at UW-Milwaukee, where I graduated with a BFA in painting and drawing. I have exhibited my paintings in galleries in Mineral Point and Milwaukee, and most recently at the Gallery of Wisconsin Art (GOWA) in West Bend, Wi.
Over the years I have been inspired by many subjects, but I would say that a common thread in all of my paintings has been a strong interest in color and pattern, which continues in my current paintings on a much more fanciful and abstract level. I like to describe them as: “botanical landscapes containing organic forms growing wildly in a vast array of complex configurations and colors, sometimes with birds added, just for fun.”
